Can you all tell which state you applied from?
As per the bispecialization phase III of USCIS, I-485 applicants from eastern and southern states are processed at SRC (TX) while western and northern at LIN (NE).
Let's verify whether this stands true...those who got their receipts can verify.

I've no problems you or anybody else challenging me--we're all (mostly) scientists/engineers here, so making assumptions based on observations, and challenging them, should be the first step toward creating a hypothesis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method). But science seeks evidence for those assumptions. Staying clear of traps like fallacies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fallacy) should help.

you need to look at the money that you must have earned/saved and then be happy about it. also the system sucks but they made it that way for a purpose. US doesnot want a flood of immigrants and hence these quotas. ofcourse because of the strict system they had to face a bigger problem i.e. illegal immigration. In the end you need to realise that the only country which has open arms for you is your home country.
my friend correctly told me ..if uscis tells me that I have to go back ..I will pack in a day and go back. we know english and have computer skills, we will get a job anywhere in the world.
also focus on the positives ..for eg I am happy that because of these delays I didnt run and buy a house in usa (which is one of the worst investments that a person can make).

Since we are in a fighting mood, I will throw some fuel to the fire :) :)
When you think about it, reservation and quota system is actually a better deal for the upper caste.
First check out this picture, which details the population percentages and proposed reservations: File:PopulationEstimations.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PopulationEstimations.jpg)
As per the above picture, 52% of people in India belongs to Backward classes according to Mandal estimates. Since the proposed reservation for them is 27%, the reservation system works in favor of Forward classes as long as Backward classes are not uplifted from their current pathetic situation. Another way of looking at the graph is that 25.5% of people in India belongs to forward classes; and their share in the Indian pie in terms of higher education of job opportunities --> (100 - 27 - 22.5 = 50.5%). Personally I like this system, than 25.5% of us getting only 25.5% of our share.
To conclude:
If reservations stays; 25% upper caste can enjoy 50% of resources.
If reservation system goes away due to uplifting of backward classes; 25% of upper caste will have to satisfy themselves with only 25% of resources.

Hi,
My I140 was approved from TSC, and 485 sent to NSC (delivered on Jul 24, 2007). Still no receipt, but I140 has the LUD as Jul 28, 2007. Just hope that this means transfer to TSC on Jul 28. Any opinions?

The other day you spent the entire day answering every question(s) people had. I even told my wife that our good friend is going to take all our worries out pretty soon. EB2 will no longer going accept porting so we will go faster and then guess what you didn't even file the law suit yet....you let us down!!

Was your I-140 applied in Premium Processing?
Yes, it was PP, although it took a couple of months because they had to find the original labor cert from my first I140. The first one had a NOID because my attorney put the wrong name on the form....!

I am not sure about that. Most of the EB3 guys have advance degrees (including me) but not necessarily with US degrees.
I would not agree that most folks in EB3 have advanced degrees. Most do not. They have lot of experience though
believe me...you would think that people with advanced degrees would have applied in EB2...but there are cases where people have had to apply in EB3 category even with an advanced degree
I disagree with this too. Here are a few examples
1) A couple of years ago, when there was no retrogression, most folks did not want to take a chance and thought EB3 was a safer bet
2) Many Advanced Degree holders from US Univs joined a firm and their GC was applied immediately. But since they did not have enough work ex, they applied in EB3
3) Lots of scrupulous employers heard about retrogression and were actually very happy. They purposely filed even highly qualified folks as EB3 so that their abuse can be prolonged
4) Incompetent lawyers who felt they would not be able to prove the necessity of EB2
5) Sheer ignorance on the part of the beneficiary

My application was received in Nebraska on 19th June, filed concurrently, with I 140 pending in Texas since 5/16
My I 140 was approved on 27th July.
My receipt numbers are as below, so it was moved from Nebraska to Texas
